The SolarEdge power optimizer is a DC/DC converter connected to each PV module (or pre-integrated by the manufacturer) to replace the traditional junction box. It maximizes energy output by continuously tracking the Maximum Power Point (MPPT) of each module and monitors individual performance through the SolarEdge Monitoring Portal for cost-effective, module-level maintenance.
Each optimizer includes the unique SafeDC™ feature, which automatically reduces module voltage when the inverter or grid power is shut down. Module-level MPPT enables flexible system design with varying module types, orientations, and tilts. When paired with SolarEdge inverters, the optimizers maintain a fixed string voltage, allowing for longer strings and greater design flexibility for optimal system performance.
